5 tips to clean your All-on-4® implants
- Daily brushing: We recommend using a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste to brush around the implants twice daily.
- Flossing: A floss threader or specialized implant floss can help clean between the prosthetic teeth and around the implants. This helps remove plaque and food particles that can lead to gum disease.
- Using a water flosser: A water flosser can be very effective in removing debris and plaque from around the implants. We highly recommend all patients clean their All-on-4® implants with a water flosser. It uses a stream of water to clean between teeth and below the gum line, which can be more comfortable for some patients.
- Rinse with an antibacterial mouthwash: Mouthwash is a triple threat to your oral health. By killing harmful bacteria, antibacterial mouthwash helps reduce the risk of gum-related issues, freshens breath, and contributes to better oral health. We recommend an alcohol-free rinse.
- Visit your dentist regularly: Professional cleanings can remove plaque and tartar that at-home care might miss. Prevention and early detection are key to maintaining your oral health!
